A few months ago we showcased the awful botched breast implants of celebrity b-list actress Tara Reid, but we failed to show you her even worse looking botched liposuction on her stomach.

It appears her surgeon went a little overboard and sucked too much fat from her stomach, resulting in quite a bit of scaring around the navel area.


Tara Reid surely did not has enough body fat to even consider liposuction, but that didn't stop her plastic surgery decision.

Tara Reid's Plastic Surgery in Playboy

The latest issue of Playboy contains actress Tara Reid's nude pictorial. As you probably know, she has been very candid about her botched breast lift and liposuction surgery by a phony plastic surgeon. She subsequently underwent corrective surgery by a good friend of mine, Dr. Steve Svehlak, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. Now she's in Playboy. Topless. With no scars. Hmmm. Something smells fishy, and it's not her acting career.

This reminds me of the Carnie Wilson Playboy pictorial, after she admitted to undergoing a breast lift. There were no scars in her pictorial either! What kind of breast lift creates no scars??

With all the airbrushing and Photoshopping going around, when reading magazines I often feel like I'm looking at drawings or paintings of famous people, not photographs. Maxim and Playboy may be the worst of these, but virtually every magazine airbrushes their photos. This creates a very unrealistic view of how people should and do look. Anyone can look good if their 'flaws' are conveniently painted away or covered with makeup, even me. Have you seen how great my skin looks on TV? Not in real life it doesn't!

Tara Reid To Bear It All In Playboy?

Seriously?? According to X17online.com, actress and botched plastic surgery victim Tara Reid has posed for a Playboy pictorial, coming out in the near future. You may remember that a couple years ago Tara admitted to undergoing botched liposuction and breast lift surgery at the hands of an unreputable surgeon. Her breast scars were revealed when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction while on the red carpet at a P Diddy party. She subsequently underwent corrective plastic surgery by my good friend, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Steve Svehlak (back in the day we were both proteges of Dr. Richard Ellenbogen, also of Beverly Hills).

It will be interesting to see how much Playboy airbrushes her photos. Will they airbrush any of the remaining scars from her original botched surgery? You may remember that ex-talk show host and Wilson Phillips star Carnie Wilson had a nude pictorial in Playboy after undergoing gastric bypass surgery. They airbrushed her scars away, so I would bet that Tara's will be too.

Tara Reid, perhaps best known for her role in the high school blockbuster hit movie American Pie, which landed her on the front page of magazine covers more than it helped her land big movie roles.


The fabulous pages of FHM and Maxim magazines soon turned to the front pages of gossip tabloids when the blonde bombshell opted for a boob job (breast implants) back in 2004. (See before and after pictures below).


Perhaps the biggest news flap was when Tara had a wardrobe malfunction at P. Diddy's thirty-fifth birthday party at Cipriani's Restaurant in New York, at which time her dress fell, exposing her left breast that had a considerable amount of scar tissue around the nipple.


Tera Reid has been quoted as saying, concerning her boob job: "I mean, everyone does it. I don't know why I'm the one who gets so much attention?"

Her plastic surgery remained a rumour untill November 4, 2004, when Tara Reid was embarrassed by a wardrobe malfunction. At P. Diddy's thirty-fifth birthday party at Cipriani's Restaurant in New York her dress fell, exposing her left breast. Suprisingly, it took a relatively long amount of time for Reid to notice the malfunction, which led some to suspect that she was inebriated. Terrible scar tissue was so visible around Reid's nipple, that her plastic surgery became evident - she had breast implants.

Tara Reid was on the Today show today talking about her plastic surgery experience. It's a nice interview. She is really doing the public a service to let them know that there are people out there doing plastic surgery who are not real plastic surgeons. Even in my geographic vicinity, there is a plethora of doctors who perform plastic surgery who have no formal plastic surgery training at all. It's extremely frustrating to see so many of their complications. Most of them could have been prevented had the surgery been performed by a competent plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. There's a reason I don't perform tonsillectomies, treat diabetes, or remove cataracts. I don't perform surgeries I haven't been properly trained to do. I wish other doctors in town would do the same.

Tara Reid's Surgeon - Dr. Steve Svehlak

Tara Reid and her plastic surgery "nightmare" is the cover story of the latest US magazine. She goes in detail about the various problems with her first plastic surgery, with the following quotes from USmagazine.com:

On why she had plastic surgery in the first place:
“I got my breasts done for the first time because my breasts were uneven. I was a 34-B, but the right one was always bigger than the left. I weigh 110 pounds now, but I always used to fluctuate by 10 pounds, so my skin was kind of saggy. I figured, I’m in Hollywood, I’m getting older, I’m going to fix them.”

On what went wrong:
“First of all, I asked for big Bs, and he did not give me big Bs. He gave me Cs, and I didn’t want them. At all. Right after the surgery, I had some bumps along the edges of my nipples, but the doctor said, ‘Don’t worry, it’s going to be better.’ But after six months of ‘it’s going to get better,’ it started to get worse and worse.”

On being intimate:
"Guys I was dating would be like, ‘What’s wrong with them? They look really bad. You know, you should really get them fixed.’ So embarrassing. I mean, you definitely need to turn off the lights, that’s for sure.”

On getting lipo:
"I got lipo because even though I was skinny, I wanted – I’m not going to lie – a six-pack. I had body contouring, but it all went wrong. My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing.”



A very good friend of mine (and former associate during my time in Beverly Hills), Dr. Steve Svehlak was identified as the surgeon who fixed her previous unsatisfactory work. She states that he helped "get her confidence back."
Liposuction which is performed overly aggressively or in the wrong tissue plane can create unsightly bulges and depressions. It is most often seen in the tummy and outer thigh areas. I have corrected many of these myself, usually coming from local cosmetic surgeons who are not board-certified plastic surgeons. I believe that the attempt to create a "six pack" using liposuction (called "etching" makes no sense at all. Some surgeons will try this to make the fat look like muscle. Unfortunately, fat is not muscle and will sag with time. No one wants to have a saggy, fat-filled six pack. Eventually that six pack of Heineken bottles will turn into a six pack of Milwaukee's Best in a can. It is bound for ultimate failure.
