Police Investigate Bbc Over Hammond Crash.... The Bbc is under investigation following TV presenter Richard Hammond's dragster jet car crash on Wednesday (20Sep06).
Hammond was filming Bbc car show Top Gear when the accident happened at a former Royal Air Force airfield near York, England.
He has suffered a "significant brain injury" after crashing at nearly 300 miles (483 kilometres) per hour.
Police and safety officials are now trying to establish whether Hammond received any training before he drove the high-speed vehicle. They also want to find out how much planning there was before Hammond's ill-fated attempt to break the British land speed record
